A memorial service for Richard Allen Prescott will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Mississippi Veteran's Memorial Cemetery Pavilion. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Richard Allen Prescott, 76 passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, in Meridian Mississippi. Richard (Rick) was born August 2, 1946, to Lloyd Richard and Alma Lorene Prescott in Syracuse, New York, as the oldest of three children.
Rick was a U.S. Marine Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Rick graduated first in his class from Indian State University. He was married to his wife, Linda, for 54 years.
Rick was a longtime resident of Meridian, MS. Rick spent nineteen years at Peavey Electronics Corporation in Meridian, MS as well as worked as a Project Manager for defense contractors supporting the military. Rick volunteered time to support local theater as well as work in the community garden. He loved to both serve and fellowship in several local churches and independent Bible study groups.
Rick is survived by his wife, Linda; brother David (Karen Prescott); daughter Stephanie (Mark Foust); son Andrew (Stephanie Prescott); daughter Colleen (Stephen Dawkins); grandchild, Ryan Foust; sisters-in-law Barb and Roberta; as well as three nephews Craig, Jeff and Steve and niece Shannon.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Richard Prescott ALS Memorial Fund. Click here to donate. This memorial fund was set up in Richard's memory to honor his late mother, Lorene, in her graceful effort to overcome amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
