Richard "Bud" Pritchard, 82, of Creston, died Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his home in Creston. No services will be held at this time. Powers Funeral Home in Creston is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com.
Richard Lee "Bud" Pritchard was born November 14, 1942, in Winterset, Iowa, to Kenneth Lee Pritchard, Sr. and Gertude Irene (Jeffs) Pritchard. He grew up in West Plains and attended school there.
He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Locke in Des Moines, Iowa. From this union came three children – Rick, Scott and Shelley. Bud and Linda later divorced. While in Des Moines, he was employed at Linn's Supermarket and Dahl's as a butcher.
Bud was united in marriage to Judy (Brammer) on April 12, 1977, in Houston, TX. He continued his work as a butcher in Texas while working for Kroeger's. He worked at Kroeger's for 30 years. In 2008, the two moved to Creston and he worked at Hy-Vee cutting meat. He retired in 2014.
Bud loved the outdoors including fishing and metal detecting. He enjoyed anything with any engine like motorcycles and cars. A favorite pastime of his was listening to country music and line dancing. Bud was a member of the Moose Lodge in Pasadena, Texas.
Survivors include his children, Rick Pritchard of Pleasantville, Scott (Shawna) Pritchard of Pleasant Hill, Richard Allison of Creston and Shelley Pritchard of Lakewood, Wash.; two brothers, Ron Pritchard of Houston, Tx. and Kenneth (Becky) Pritchard of Peoria; sisters, Doris (Jim) Hutchison of Tampa, Fl., Delia (Bob) Weston of West Plains, Mo., Barbara (Don) Siefkas of Tampa, Fl. and Judy Phillips of Fulton, Mo.; along with multiple grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, Kenneth and Gertrude Pritchard; his wife, Judy; along with grandson, Logan Lee Pritchard Beaty.
