Richard "Dick" Pugh, 74, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on February 16, 1951, at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his work and a joyful spirit that touched many.
A proud graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, Class of 1969, Richard began a career in human resources that spanned decades. He brought his strong work ethic and kind demeanor to roles at Levitz Furniture in California and later at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Grove City, Ohio. In every position he held, Richard was known for his commitment to excellence and his pride in a job well done.
Beyond his professional life, Richard was cherished for his sense of humor and playful nature. He had a gift for making people laugh and never missed an opportunity to bring joy to those around him. His silliness was infectious, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sheila Pugh (Gaustad); his children and their families, Janelle Weethee (Pugh), Randall Pugh, and Mackenzie Pugh; his brothers, Jere Pugh and William (Veronica) Pugh; aunts Elaine Goshe and Bernice Wickiser (Goshe), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes Agatha Pugh (Goshe) and Robert Corwin Pugh.
Richard's memory will live on in the laughter he inspired and the lives he touched with warmth and generosity. May his legacy bring comfort to all who knew him.
