Richard Raffler

Richard "Dick" Raffler, 93, of Grand Ledge, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 7, 2023. He was born in Woodland, MI on April 5, 1930, the son of the late Vernice and Lucille (Johnson) Raffler. Dick was a graduate of Woodland High School, and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Oldsmobile in 1990 as a Journeyman Machine Repair Man and proud member of the Local Union 1618.
Besides his love of work and traveling he had many hobbies he enjoyed; golfing, gardening, softball, bowling, sitting on the porch. He enjoyed nature, going for walks and doing home remodeling. Dick had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.
Dick is survived by his children: Janyth Troshak of Zeeland, Kevin (Penni) Raffler and Jill Raffler both of Grand Ledge; grandchildren: Justin (Jody), Ryan, and Lindsay (Dale); great grandchildren: Logan, Naomi, and Lydia; siblings, Marquerite Platte and Marvin (Sue) Raffler; sister-in-law, Jan Raffler; cousin Jeralee Mazurek. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years Paula Raffler, brothers Arthur, Vernon, Elwyn (Dutch), Larry, Arnold, Donald and Darwin Raffler.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 11:00 a.m. at Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A visitation will also be held Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in loving memory of Dick Raffler to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
