A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home on Saturday, June 3, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM. The family invites those who cannot attend in person to participate via Webcast. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rick's name may be made to various charities.
Richard J. Ragula was from Manalapan and had lived in South Amboy and Manalapan. He graduated from St. Mary's High School and the University of Illinois Chicago. He also attended graduate school at Rutgers University and NJIT. He worked as a biochemist.
Richard J. Ragula is survived by his son Aaron Kanner, daughter Saundra Kanner Sparks, sister Ruth T. Balbach, brother-in-law Gordon J. Balbach, grandchild Elyse Kanner, grandchild Sean Sparks, sister-in-law Toby Grabelle, sister-in-law Diane Friedman, sister-in-law Janet Chinelli, and brother-in-law Dr. Frederick Harris. He is preceded in death by his wife Michelle L. Ragula, brother-in-law Laurence Friedman, brother-in-law Dennis Chinelli, brother-in-law Dr. Barry Grabelle, mother Frances M. Ragula, and father John T. Ragula.
