Richard Lee Reliford

Mr. Richard Lee Reliford, 76 of Galax, VA passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born in Fayette, WV on December 16, 1947 to the late Frank and Ruth Holbert Reliford. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Shannon Reliford; brothers, Charlie, Frank and Galen; sisters, Vivian, Barbara, Wanda and Nora. Richard was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a plant engineer in machinery. He enjoyed gardening and mowing; he loved being outside. He also enjoyed cooking and he made the "best chicken casserole." He is survived by his son, Richard L. Reliford, Jr. and wife, Tonya of Princeton, NC; sisters, Norma Jean Simmons of Galax, VA and Mary Stacy of Rainelle, WV; grandchildren, Hunter Reliford, Ethan Reliford and Alexis Reliford; several nieces and nephews also survive. No services will be held at this time.
