Richard Reott Obituary

Richard D. Reott, 69, of New Derry, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at home. He was born July 13, 1955, in Latrobe, to the late George J. Reott Sr. and Martha (Boggio) Reott. Richard was a retired cook, having worked for Torrance State Hospital for 35 years. He was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed playing cards, Shuffleboard, going to the casino, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He was also a member of several local social clubs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Joseph, Phillip, Teddy, Robert, David, George Jr., and Frank Reott; and four sisters, Rosie, Janie, Barbara, and Betty Lou. Richard is survived by four children, Stacy Schmucker (Timothy), Amy Stash (Josh Chismar), Scott Reott (Tara Campbell), and Kristin Reott (Danika Bush); six grandchildren, Sophie, Wyatt, Peyton, and Piper Schmucker, Levi and Zachary Stash; and three sisters, Evelyn Inzitari, Aggie Brown and Kathy Carver. Family will receive friends for Richard's Life Celebration 6 to 8 p.m.,Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, in the MATTHEW X. MERLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 529 N. Chestnut St., Derry, 724-694-8331. A Funeral Service will take place, Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home, with Pastor Shawn Lyons officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery, New Derry, PA. www.merlinfuneralhome.com.
