Richard "Rick" Nadeau

Richard (Rick) Nadeau, age 73, passed away on the morning of Friday August 8, 2025, at Spring Village

in Dover, NH. He was born on April 17, 1952, in Sanford, Maine, the son of the late Evelyn Richard

Nadeau and JF Raymond "Red" Nadeau.

Rick was a graduate of Sanford High School and the University of Maine where he earned a Bachelors

Degree and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He was a resident of Sanford, Maine, Rye, NH

and Cumberland Foreside, Maine.

Rick served in the Maine State Legislature representing the Town of Sanford, Maine. There, and to the

delight of his brother, he worked on securing dedicated funding for the State Fire Marshal's Office and

Maine Firefighter Training programs. He was a long-term Executive Director of the Maine Credit Union

League Insurance Trust.

Rick loved watching and following sports, especially basketball and baseball, always cheering on the Red

Sox. More recently he started watching horse races and enjoyed that quite a bit. He was a genius when it

came to numbers and figures and always kept a close eye on the stock market. He enjoyed taking long

walks and savoring a good glass of wine.

In his younger days, Rick traveled quite a bit and even had a condominium at Attitash for skiing which he

shared with his family, much to the enjoyment of his many nieces and nephews, whom he adored with all

his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Libby-Rose of Tampa, Florida; his brother, John Nadeau of Hampton,

NH and his wife Christine Honey-Nadeau; sister Michelle Jean of Sanford, Maine and her husband

Michael Jean; and sister Roslyn Emmons of Springvale, Maine and her husband Wayne Emmons He is

also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Rick is in the care of Tasker Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held on

Saturday, August 16th. . The family asks that if you are able, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's

Foundation of America or the Americen Heart Association.
