Rick was a wonderful neighbor and our neighborhood will not be the same without him and Walt Clark. Both were wonderful family men, veterans of the military, and that sense of service and duty to others and the community will be greatly missed. Our family sends our deepest condolences to Melissa and her children and grandchildren.

I didn't know Rick personally; I just heard of him off and on for years as a friend of his mother-in-law. His picture tells me he was a good, kind man. Please accept my deep condolences.

Rick and I had so many adventures together that it's hard to cite just one, but I remember him talking about meeting this one girl he met through work and how he was going to just focus on being nice to her. Lucky for Chip and Kathryn. And luckiest for Rick. Love you Melissa.

Melissa and family,

How can I convey the impact Rick had on me and my family. Rick will be greatly missed. He and Melissa were neighbors of my parents for over 30 years. Rick was a huge help when my dad passed last year, and my mother went to assisted living.

I was left to handle everything, selling the house, emptying their house. Rick knew exactly what their wishes would be, how they would handle things because they were so close. I can remember a story when Rick wanted dad to come out and play, he would just start up a power tool and dad would be right there, dad enjoyed being there to help with any project and Rick was so thoughtful in wanting to include dad.

My mother enjoyed their talks, usually about finances and health, mom always welcomed his presence.

I had seen Rick and Melissa through the years when I visited my parents, my daughter played on their swing set as a young girl, my son enjoyed talking to Rick when he visited, I really got to know Rick these past couple of years and really understood how great a person and family man that he truly was. Rick will always have a special place in me and my families´ hearts. Our deepest condolences to Melissa, Kathryn, Chip, Garrett and his siblings, special mention to those granddaughters Evelyn and Charlotte, I know he was very proud and loved them so much.
