He was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ, Kutztown, where he served as a Deacon as a member of the Consistory. He was a long-time candy maker, affectionately known as Mr. Chocolate, as one of his duties was melting chocolate for the chocolate coaters. Dick was employed as a maintenance mechanic by Bally Ribbon Mill, Bally, for over 37 years, until his retirement in 1997. Prior, he worked in steel forming for Eastern Foundry and at Bally Case and Cooler, Bally. Following his retirement, he continued to work part-time for Bally Ribbon Mills until age 74.

Richard was a member of Bally Fire Company; Keystone Fire Company, Boyertown; Bechtelsville Fire Company; Pikeville Sportsmen's Association; and Bally Recycling. He enjoyed watching sports, with baseball being his favorite. He even helped build the original Bally baseball diamond for the community many years ago. Dick and Brenda enjoyed travelling together throughout the years.

In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by a son, Kenneth "Ken" R., husband of Kim Marie (Germuga) Rohrbach, Macungie. There are two granddaughters, Carly M. Rohrbach and Lauren H. Rohrbach.

Other survivors include a brother, Robert L., widower of Marie (Schuler) Rohrbach, Shillington. In addition to his parents, Duke was predeceased by siblings: Naomi (Sell) Becker; Lester "Pat" Rohrbach; James Rohrbach; Emma (Rohrbach) Moyer; Walter Rohrbach; and a sister in infancy.
