I just heard this now, almost three years after. Most of my interaction with Dick was at the Eerie Horror Fest and his video store when I was a kid which wasn't a lot but it was enough that I really liked and admired him. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

I agree with all of the statements already posted, Dick was one of the good ones. I worked for him at the Erie data center when - as Dave J reminded us - "Once there was a Camelot". I still have the mugs with all the names of our GTEDS Erie colleagues. To Jeff and the entire family, deepest sympathies and best wishes celebrating a life well-lived.

I talked to Dick about two months ago Dick and I shared the same birthday and we tried to keep in touch each year. I always loved his sense of humor and his wonderful stories. He was one of a kind .
I know the people in the GTEDS DURHAM DATA CENTER thought of him as one of the best of the best.
He will be missed.

The thing I noticed about Mr. Ropp was his dedication to his family! He supported his family and was surrounded by love and RESPECT. I'm sad to see him go, but I'm glad I got to see him in action. A very good egg indeed
