Richard "Dick" Kent Rouyer, 78, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away on December 31, 2024 and is now rejoicing in the presence of our Savior. The family will honor his memory with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at his daughter, Kristie Robert's residence in Unity Village, 1901 NW Blue Parkway, Unity Village, MO 64065.
Dick was born on March 11, 1946 in Kansas City, KS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy (Shelton) Rouyer, brother, David Rouyer, and step son, Scott Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Holderby) Rouyer; his daughters, Kristie (James) Roberts and Jenny (Rouyer) Irvin; step sons, Brian (Joanna) Clark and Paul (Emily) Clark; his grandchildren, Madison Rouyer, Welsey, Ansley and Briley Irvin, Scott and Nolan Clark, and Ryanne and Max Clark; and his brother, Gary (Jane) Rouyer.
Dick grew up in Kansas City, KS, and graduated from Bishop Ward High School. He then joined and served in the Kansas National Guard. Shortly after, he began his long-time career in Auto sales and leasing at Feld Chevrolet and Jay Wolfe Chevrolet.
Dick was known for his work ethic and was a man of deep love and dedication to his family, creating lifelong friendships along the way, he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He found great joy in vacationing with his family in Colorado and at Lake of the Ozarks, where he loved cruising in his boat. Dick had a passion for cars, particularly older, faster models.
He was a lifelong fan of the KC Royals and KC Chiefs; he hardly missed a game. Dick's sense of humor brought laughter to all who knew him. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to brag about them.
Family gatherings, playing board games, and enjoying dinners together were among his favorite pastimes. He was also a spiritual leader, sharing his faith with those closest to him. Whether tending to his pristine lawn, telling stories, or simply being with his family, Dick's love for life and those around him shone brightly.

I've known DB all of my life and he's my best friend, I've seen his ups and downs and near death experience. It always amazed me how he pulled through all of them a better man. He had a great sense humor. Over all just a great guy and I will always cherish his friendship. He was my brother from another mother. Rest in peace DB.

I knew Dick during my teen years. He was a great person and I enjoyed being around him. We grew up in Wellborn, Kansas and had many times f the same friends. Dick introduced me to drag racing and the love of cars. Always considered him my friend. Susie McMillian Shumake.
