Richard J. Rudy, 73, of Latrobe, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg. Born July 13, 1952, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Peter J. Rudy and Irene T. (Eskut) Rudy. Rick attended Penn State University, where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Phi fraternity. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Penn State Tool & Die and the former Newcomer Products. A great handyman, he loved using his skills to build and repair things. He also enjoyed family vacations, especially to Wildwood, NJ. Rick is survived by his wife, Janice M. (Krinock) Rudy, of Latrobe; one son, Matthew A. Rudy-Logue (Ryan Cayden), of Columbia, MD; one daughter, Rebecca L. Marks (Dean), of Latrobe; one granddaughter, his pride and joy, Josephine "Josie" Marks; one brother, Mark Rudy (Eileen), of Ruffsdale; three sisters, Patricia Piper of Latrobe, Rita Rudy (Robert Platt) of Kingsport, TN, and Kathleen Rudy (Annie Salonish) of Latrobe; sisters-in-law, Pamela Williams and Elaine Smith; a special niece, Jane Williams Binley (Chris); and several other nieces and nephews. Rick's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and kindness. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, in the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
