Richard Neil Ryan

Richard "Richie" Ryan Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully at his North Falmouth home on October 13th.

Originally from West Roxbury, Richie-known to many as "Uncle Richie"-was a loyal friend, neighbor, and family man whose kindness and humor touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his many close friends and extended family.

Richie was a U.S. Army veteran and a former employee of New England Telephone. He later served as Director of Security for the Suffolk County Superior Court, where he was known for his dedication and professionalism.

In retirement, Richie could often be found at Silver Beach or sitting on his front porch, "holding court" and sharing stories with friends and neighbors.

He was the father of the late Richard "Rich" Ryan Jr. of New Hampshire, and the brother of the late Mary Elizabeth Ryan and her husband Walter of Norwood, and the late Robert Ryan and his wife Margaret "Peggy" of Abington. Richie is survived by his sisters Barbara Flaherty and her late husband Vincent P. of Arlington, and Elaine Peabody and her husband Kevin of Woodstock, Connecticut, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 511 Main Street Friday, November 14th at 11:00am. Burial will follow the Mass in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
