Richard Sak Obituary

Richard Matthew "Rick" Sak, 77, of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 in Cary, North Carolina. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Rick will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family.

Born on May 29, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, Rick was the beloved son of the late Matt and Cathrine Sak. He grew up surrounded by a close-knit family, learning early the importance of kindness and dedication that he carried throughout his life. Rick was an Electrical Engineer and proudly served his country as a US Navy veteran. A role that instilled in him a strong sense of duty and respect that those who knew him deeply admired.

Family was always at the center of Rick's world. He shared a loving marriage with his devoted wife, Mary Lynn Tyrcha Sak, whose companionship brought him endless joy. Together they raised three children, Christine Larson (Harley), Kimberly Hall (Blake), and Richard Matthew Sak II (Emily) who were the pride of his life. Rick found boundless happiness in his grandchildren, Carson, Cooper, Adalyn and Maya, delighting in every moment shared with them.

Rick is also survived by his sister Sue Montalbano (Pat) , many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and Brother-in-law Gary Nowak. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Nowak.

Those who knew Rick will remember his friendly demeanor-he greeted everyone with a smile and treated all with kindness. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, fishing, golfing, playing computer games and watching sports on television. His laughter, easygoing nature, and love for those around him will be deeply missed.

Though he has left this world, Rick's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
