Richard Saunders Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dahl Funeral Chapel - Billings on Mar. 12, 2026.
Dick was born on May 13, 1946 to Harry (Tex) and Ruth Saunders, the third of five. Dick passed away the evening of March 4, 2026 in Billings, MT at the Billings Clinic due to complications from surgery.
The family moved to Roundup in 1949. Dick went to school in Roundup, graduating in 1965. He continued his education within four years at MSU Bozeman earning a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Evans while in college they later divorced. After college he went to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph and later for another engineering firm before having to retire because of the MS he was diagnosed with in his 20s. He struggled with this disease for a lot of years but never gave up. He was determined that MS would not get the upper hand.
After his retirement he spent a lot of his time refurbishing old computers which he donated to charities. The last few years he had been in and out of hospitals and rest homes but his end goal was to be home. With the help of his live in care giver (Kevin Poole) he was able to do this. Thank you Kevin for all you have done for him.
Dick was preceded in death by sister Lily Meyer (Harlan), brothers Christopher (Billie) and Ronald (Anita).
He is survived by his brother Roy Allen (Charlene), his long time love Jackie Bey, care givers Kevin and Kenneth and many nieces and nephews.
No services are planned.
Rest in peace brother.
