TALLMADGE - Richard Frederick Schmader, 69, passed away February 2, 2026.

He was born on November 19, 1956, to the late Ray and Donna Schmader, in Akron. Rich was a 1974 graduate of Stow High School, where he participated in band and other activities. After graduation, he became the manager of Stow’s Spaghetti Bowl and then went on to work in upper management with other companies.

Rich lived a life of adventures with his wife, Denise. They took epic Harley rides every chance they got and settled in Knoxville for a few years. He had many friends, neighbors, and colleagues, who shared their famous pool parties.

Rich was a talented artist, creating many things from birthday signs and cement statues to perfect renditions of characters, like a Mickey Mouse Halloween costume he made for his brother-in-law. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved music, particularly rock ‘n’ roll and German heritage music.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Schmader; nephew, Eric Schmader, and brother-in-law, Tim Manley. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Denise Schmader; brothers, Gene Schmader and Carl Schmader; sister, Linda (Terry) Gaskins; nieces, Malissa Chavis, Geena Volpe, Tashia Moss, Tanya McKilvey, and Lydia Schmader; nephews, Collin Schmader and Kevin Taylor, as well as many cousins.

Pastor Dan Page will conduct funeral services Monday, February 9, 2026, at 7 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224, where friends may call from 4 PM, until time of service.
