Mr. Richard C. “Dickie” Shepherd, age 79, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at The Hospice House of Southern KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Franklin First Baptist Church, 303 East Cedar St. Franklin, KY 42134. Visitation will be continue on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 6:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.
Dickie was born on January 30, 1946 in New Boston, OH to the late Bea (Grimsley) Shepherd and the late Roy Shepherd.
He is survived by his spouse of 43 years Linda Shepherd; 4 children, Kelli Harvey (Jeff) of Franklin, KY, Kimmye Bohannon (Dennis) of Lexington, KY, Curt Fleming (Patti) Florence, KY and Chandler Shepherd (McKense) of Russellville, KY; 10 grandchildren, Grant Harvey (Rachel), Cade Harvey (Emma), Annie Bohannon, Ellen Bohannon, Taylor Harvey, Denny Bohannon, Riley Shepherd, Piper Shepherd, Conner Kramer, Alex Fleming; great grandson, Sutton Harvey.
Dickie was a graduate of Franklin Simpson High School in the class of 1964. He then went on to Western Kentucky University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklin. In his free time he enjoyed to hunt, fish and golf.
