Richard L. Shinn, 74, passed away on September 16, 2024, in Muncie, Indiana. He was born January 13th, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to Everett and Mary Ann Shinn. He was blessed with 3 wonderful children.
He was a dedicated individual who made significant contributions in both his professional and personal lives. Richard had a fulfilling career at Diamond Chain, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and excellence.
Known for his awesome personality, Richard was a beloved figure among family and friends. He had an enduring passion for gardening and was an avid supporter of all Michigan sports teams, reveling in every victory and defeat. One of his fondest memories was when Michigan University won the national college football championship, a life event that brought him immense joy.
Richard's interests extended to spending time at casinos, where he enjoyed the thrill of gaming and the camaraderie it fostered. His love for life was deeply reflected in the relationships he built and the experiences he cherished. Richard loved his 2 beloved dogs Kobe and Casey.
Richard is survived by his son Derrick Shinn, his daughters Amanda (Jason) Wilson and Kelly (Robert) Schmitz, as well as his grandkids, including Jayden Wilson, Madisyn Wilson, Annabelle Lundy, and Colin Lundy. He also leaves behind his siblings Judy (Jim) Johnson, Tom (Alice) Shinn, and Terry (Joanne) Shinn, alongside many nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is remembered by the loving family of Linda Conley, who brought joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Shinn; mother, Mary Ann Shinn; brother, Timmy Shinn; his wife, Patricia Shinn; his loving companion, Linda Conley; future brother-in-law Ed Decker. His two beloved dogs Kobe and Casey.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on September 26, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM. Both services will be held at Washington Park East, located at 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229.
Richard L. Shinn will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
