Richard Adam (Dick) Silbernagel, 81, of Moore, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on November 17, 2025 surrounded by loving family.
Dick was born October 7, 1944 in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Adam and Anne Silbernagel. He was the third of seven children. As a young boy, he and his family moved to Richfield, Minnesota, where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Airforce.
Dick met Loy Rozzell while stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. They married on October 30, 1964 and enjoyed 61 loving years of marriage together.
After their first daughter was born in Oklahoma, Dick's military service took him overseas to Thailand. However, he decided against a career in the airforce soon after returning stateside and instead enrolled in drafting school. In December 1966, the family moved to Richfield, MN, where he worked as a draftsman at The Toro Company. After 18 months, he was done tolerating the cold climate of Minnesota, so they returned to the Oklahoma City area and have lived here since May 1968. That year, he started at CMI Construction Equipment, where he spent over 40 years. At CMI, Dick's expertise in designing large road equipment earned him the role of project engineer, where he was honored with many awards throughout his career. He retired in 2009.
After retiring, Dick and Loy embraced the opportunity to travel and spend time with their family. One of their most treasured experiences was a European tour celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. He loved his family so very much, and made sure they knew it.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents Adam and Anne and his sisters Shirley Binick, Sharon Frederickson, and Kim Ferber.
He is survived by his beloved wife Loy Rozzell Silbernagel, daughters Angie (Steve) Wagoner of Pagosa Springs, CO and Jennifer (John) King of Moore, OK, grandchildren Rachel Wagoner (Emily Chavez), Blake Wagoner (Alissa Johnson), Braden (Makenna) Wagoner, Cassidy King (Devon Graves) and Cameron King (Paul Baguley), brother Greg Silbernagel, sisters Pat Johnson and Connie Laursen, and many nieces and nephews.
Dick's funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Moore Funeral and Cremation.
Arrangements are under the thoughtful direction of Moore Funeral and Cremation.
