Richard "Ricky" C. Sistrunk
April 6, 1958 – June 15, 2025
Richard "Ricky" C. Sistrunk, 67, of Edinburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 15,
2025. Born on April 6, 1958, in Leake County, MS, Ricky was a lifelong resident of Edinburg and
a graduate of Edinburg High School.
A devoted husband, father, and Bop, Ricky spent his life building not only homes as a
self-employed general contractor, but also relationships rooted in faith, love, and laughter. He
was married for 47 years to the love of his life, Pam Wooten Sistrunk. Together, they raised two
daughters, Jessica Mooney (Nicky) and Jordana Jones (Daniel), and were blessed with five
cherished grandchildren: Cy Mooney, Hadlee Mooney, Addyson Jones, Caroline Jones, and
Cutler Jones.
Ricky is also survived by his sister, Debra Ray (James), and his brother, Kent Sistrunk (Dottie),
along with several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Cecil and Agnes Sistrunk; his in-laws, Joe and Ruth Wooten; his sister, Lyn Scott; and a dear
uncle, Charlie Chamblee.
A faithful member and elder of Pine Grove Church in Edinburg, Ricky was deeply committed to
his faith and church family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and being
in nature, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends. Known for his
warm smile, generous spirit, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Ricky will be
remembered for the way he made others feel welcomed and loved.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pine Grove
Church in Edinburg, MS.
A Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Grove
Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is entrusted with the
arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Randy Wooten, Marshall Wooten, Mark Wooten, Chance Sistrunk, Andy
Walker, Kip Wilcher, Bill Loftin, and Ricky Wilcher.
Honorary Pallbearers include Bro. Jerry Germany, Bo Surber, Billy Wilcher, Paul Hughes,
Bevon Ladner, Howard Wilcher and Earl Wilson.
Ricky's legacy of faith, kindness, and love for others will continue to live on in all who knew and
loved him.
Those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they will rise up with
wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow
faint.
