Richard Gloyd "Rick" Stanley, age 72, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Rick was born on February 25, 1953, in Midland, Texas, to Richard T. Stanley and Gretchen (Horton) Stanley. He graduated from Weatherford College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science and went on to build a career in customer service and retail. A member of South Side Baptist Church, Rick was a licensed minister who had a deep love for music and often blessed others by singing special songs during services.
In his free time, Rick enjoyed fishing and bowling, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family - especially his grand-babies, whom he adored.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gretchen Stanley, and his grandparents, Charlie and Hattie Stanley and Gloyd and Mae Horton.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 47 years, Dayle Stanley; sons, Eric Stanley and wife, Ashlie, and Micheal Stanley, all of Weatherford, Texas; his treasured grandchildren, Dylan Stanley, Corbyn Dygert-Stanley, Camdyn Dygert-Stanley, Jaxon Bear, J.R. Stanley, J.W. Stanley, Mia-Koda Morales-Stanley, and Jade Smith; as well as numerous bonus children and grandchildren who lovingly called him their own.
Rick is also survived by his brother, Mike Stanley and wife, Kristy; and nieces and nephews, Derek Stanley, Brooke Stanley, Kendal Stanley, and Allison Stanley.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Community Healthcare of Texas (Burleson) and Granbury Care Center for the compassion and care shown during Rick’s final days.
