RICHARD STERLING Obituary

Richard Sterling, 61, of Wellsville, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at The Gardens in Camp Hill, Pa. He was born on September 8, 1961, in Elmira, N.Y., a son of Verle and Janice (Brennan) Sterling. Richard worked in electronics for Snap-On, Oven Industries and Vecton. He also worked at JDK Catering, which he enjoyed. He loved smoking meat in the smoker and perfected the best sauce for pulled pork sandwiches. He was also very passionate about fishing, gardening, NASCAR races, and his beloved pets.
Richard is survived by his son, Andy Sterling of Drexel Hill, Pa.; a daughter, Ashley (Luke) Hanmer of Harrisburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Grace and Lillian; his father, Verle Sterling of Millerton, Pa.; two brothers, Daryl (Nancy) Sterling of Millerton, Pa., and Matthew (Anggita) Sterling of South Korea; and a sister, Sara (Michael) D'Ancona of New Tripoli, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 3 - 4 p.m. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com

I met Rich at EI Tech school in Hbg. He was my lab partner, fishing and hunting buddy and quite the party animal. I was fortunate to participate in his wedding to Lisa. I was and still am shocked to find out that he passed. So sad. Keep the good memories alive.
