Richard "Steve" Stephen Jones (69) passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at his assisted living facility due to complications from his 2020 stroke.
He is survived by his son, Zachary, his sister Nita, her children, Sam and Anna, as well as his grand dog, Bob.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing with his best friend, Steve. He looked forward to his annual camping trip at Electric Lake, where he got to spend time with his large group of longtime friends.
Steve never missed a NASCAR race and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas to watch in person. He was an avid skier and even spent part of his life on the Brighton Ski patrol. In his later years, he ran his own plumbing business, where his kindness and compassion left an impression on everyone he served.
During his time in assisted living, he looked forward to his Sunday lunches with Zach, Lauren, and Bob. He would save his breakfast bacon throughout the week so he could share with his best buddy, Bob.
A memorial service in Steve’s honor will be held at Saturday April 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary , 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Stroke Association.
