Mulhane Home For Funerals - MillburyOXFORD - Richard Raymond Stopyra 46, passed away unexpectedly on March 23rd, in UMASS Memorial Center, Worcester.
Richard is survived by his wife, Vanessa L (Brillhart) Stopyra of Douglas, his children, Rhegan W. and Iris S. Stopyra of Oxford, his father, Stanley P. Stopyra and wife Cindy of Sutton, his mother, Sandra L. (Soderman) Stopyra of Worcester, brother, Erich Vallee of Sutton, his niece, Aurora and nephew, Jaime of Uxbridge, his children’s mother Nikki Hewey of Worcester, multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him.
Richard Graduated from Blackstone Valley Tech 1998, and went onto Springfield Technical College. Later he began his career as an apprentice in 2002 for Local 4 Plummers Union, sponsored by his friend Chris Griffiths and becoming a journeyman in 2007.
He went on to work for Wm H Lynch, AZ Tech, and lastly at Harry Grodsky Company where he was the Foreman for the Building Project for the VA in the City of Worcester on Lake Ave.
He loved bow hunting, summers at the beach with friends and family in Westport or in New Hampshire with his family, snowmobiling, archery, motorcycle riding, but best of all loved doing things with his children like taking them to fishing tournaments with "Puppa" Starsh or ice fishing with Rhegan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Richard’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, April 4th from 2 to 5 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. Burial will be held privately.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the American Legion Dudley-Gendron Post, 156 Boston Road in Sutton.
