Richard Storr Obituary
Born in Trenton, NJ, May 2, 1939, he was the son of the late John William and Edith Jane Miller Storr.
Dick was a 1957 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School. A United States Airforce Airman veteran serving from 1959-1962, Dick was employed by Mack Trucks in Bridgewater, NJ for over thirty years. He was an active member of the American Legion, the Flemington Elks, and the Flemington VFW. A member of the Sunday morning golf club, Dick was an avid sports fan. After retirement he met the love of his life Maxie, his beloved Jack Russell terrier.
Richard continued serving the public as a parking enforcement officer and school crossing guard. In 2002, he moved to Shallotte, NC where he happily lived the rest of his life playing golf, cutting the grass, and going on walks with Maxie.
Dick is predeceased by five brothers, Roger Storr, Kenneth "Dutch" Storr, Burdette "Nub" Storr, Grenelle "Slim" Storr, and Paul Storr, as well as one sister, Wenonah Stover.
Surviving are his daughter, Suzan Storr of Shallotte, NC; one son, Richard Storr of Ringoes, NJ, and two siblings, Mary Storr Miller of Ringoes, NJ and his twin brother, Robert A. Storr of Sergeantsville, NJ.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 12:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, from 11:00-12:00 PM in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Richard's name may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
