The world’s best Husband, Dad, Papa, Uncle, and Brother passed away, at the age of 66 on September 12, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He will be greeted by the loving arms of his son (Rob Stringer), along with his parents (Arletta and Harry Stringer), nephew (Adam Bera), and many others.

Richard was born in Redlands, CA on August 5, 1957, to Harry and Arletta Stringer. He was the younger brother of Steven Stringer. The family moved to Utah when Richard was 8 years old. After graduating from Layton High School in 1975, he was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army for six years being stationed in Illinois, Massachusetts, Alaska, and Alabama. After completing his service, he returned home to Utah and began a career as a Civil Servant, starting at Toole Army Depot as a fireman. Eventually, he began working at Hill AFB as an aircraft mechanic then moving on to become a supervisor and retiring in 2004 as a scheduler.

He fell in love at a young age to his wife, Debbie Stringer. She is his best friend and sweety pie! They have been married for the last 47 years. Together they had four beautiful children Rick (Nicki), Rob, Steven (Rachelle), and Valerie (Jared Humphries) and 8 wonderful grandchildren (Tayten, Zach, Harley, Gaven, Carter, Brynlee, Madison, and Baylor). They loved to travel and spend time with each other. No matter where he was, Richard was always the life of the party.

He enjoyed making his way back to Alaska to go fishing and was lucky enough to go many times with his brother and other members of his family. He spent a lot of time in his shop repairing and building all kinds of projects.

Richard was very loving, he enjoyed watching each of his grandkids play sports and dance. He loved going 4-wheeling in Kanab with his kids and grandchildren. He found enjoyment being around his family and loved ones, especially his dogs. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and dogs.

Funeral Services will be held Monday September 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s  Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday prior to services from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
