Richard Stuart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richardson Funeral Home - Leominster on Mar. 16, 2026.
Richard James Stuart, known affectionately as Dick, passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on June 18, 1947, in Leominster, Massachusetts, Dick was a lifelong resident of the area, eventually settling in Sterling, MA, where he passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Dick was a proud graduate of Wachusett High School, Class of 1965, and furthered his education at ITT, where he honed his skills that would serve him well in his professional life. He was the respected owner and operator of Town Line Garage for over 45 years, a business that not only served the community but also became a local landmark under his stewardship. His work ethic and dedication to his craft were matched only by his involvement in various associations, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a hand.

Beyond his professional life, Dick was a man of many interests. He was a fixture at his children's and then his grandchildren's sporting events, always there to cheer them on with enthusiasm and pride. His love for being actively involved in their lives was a testament to his loving nature. A true DIY enthusiast, Dick could often be found fixing or installing something new, never one to shy away from a challenge. His hands were rarely still, and his home was a testament to his many projects and talents.

In recent years, Dick had rediscovered his passion for music, picking up the guitar once again. The melodies that floated from his strings were a source of joy for him and those lucky enough to listen. Gardening was another of his pleasures, and he took great satisfaction in nurturing his plants and watching them grow, a parallel to the way he cared for his relationships with friends and family.

Dick was predeceased by his beloved wives, Karen Stuart and Gloria Stuart. He is survived by his brother, Sparrow Heart; his sons, Paul and Eric Stuart; his daughter, Amber McEvoy; and his cherished eight grandchildren, who will miss their grandfather's boundless love and support.

Those who knew Dick will remember him as a friendly, handy, and loving man. He was a pillar of the community, a devoted family man, and a friend to all. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will be cherished by the many lives he impacted.

Richard James Stuart's life was one of purpose, joy, and connection. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring mark he has left on the world. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Services will be held at Hillside Cemetery, 25 Clinton Rd., April 11th at 11 am.
