"Dick" of Waterford; February 4, 2026, age 76; Loving husband of Shirley Thomas for 33 years; Cherished father of Denise Atkinson and the late Jeffrey Brewer; Beloved grandfather of Michael (Isabella), Mario (Rebecca), Justin (Delaney), Emily (Ari) and Chace; Proud great grandfather of Noah, Addison, Stell, Michael and Patrick; Dear brother of Karen (late Bob) Lynn, Cindy (Tim) LeMarbe, Mike (Pennie) Thomas and the late Judith (late Pete) Pierce; Brother in law of Dan Garrett, Linda (Bob) Jones and LouAnne (Jerry) Hensley. Also loved by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomas worked for the General Motors Corporation, Fisher Body Division and Orion Division. Dick was a NASCAR fan and loved classic cars. He enjoyed hunting and his cabin in Luzerne. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Church, 1375 Hiller Road, Waterford. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. Memorials may be made to the Heart Association or the Humane Society.
