Richard Leroy Trubee passed away on February 18th, 2025, at Scott & White in Waco. He peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones, after battling health complications stemming from a stroke.

Richard was born on March 27th, 1959, in Houston, Texas to Norman Dean Trubee Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Holtkamp. He grew up in Cameron, Texas, and graduated from C.H. Yoe High School in 1977. He went on to receive an associate’s degree from Texas State Technical Institute.

A hardworking man, Richard worked as a mechanic and United States postal carrier throughout his life. He dedicated many years of service as a volunteer firefighter with the Bastrop, Cameron, and Rosebud Volunteer Fire Departments. His willingness to help others and his dedication to service left a lasting impact on those around him. He was well known for cooking and barbecuing for many local festivities, and for being a die-hard Texas Longhorn supporter.

Richard was a beloved father, brother, and friend to many. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Trubee; his four siblings and their families, Norman Trubee Jr., Mary Patricia Trubee, Michelle Crystal, and Neal Trubee; and significant other, Ashley Bishop. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1st, beginning at 4pm at Barclay Schoolhouse located at 809 FM-1772, Rosebud, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made in his memory to the Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department.
