RICHARD “DICK” TUREK

Richard (Dick) Turek, 94, of Bay Village, Ohio, died peacefully on September 5, 2025. His wife, Corrinne (Connie) Suel Turek, his childhood playmate, high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 69 years preceded him in death. He is survived by sons Paul (Abby) of Waconia, MN, James (Susie) of Westlake, OH, and Christopher (Monica) of Naples, FL; daughters Susan Miles (Kevin) of Louisville, KY, Dr. Margaret Turek of Half Moon Bay, CA, and Jennifer Miller (Ed) of Bay Village, OH; ten grandchildren Megan Turek, Katie Holcomb, Matt Turek, Ryan Miles, Natalie Palcko, Stephanie Turek, Patrick Miller, Brian Turek, David Turek, and MJ Turek and twelve great-grandchildren. His parents, two brothers, and grandson (Eddie Miller) preceded him in death.

Dick was his high school class valedictorian and co-captain of his 1948 undefeated football team. He graduated from St. Thomas University, summa cum laude, and was a member of the College National Honor Society. He was a Distinguished AFROTC Graduate receiving the Chicago Tribune and the Minnesota Air National Guard awards and served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force.

Dick was a chemist, engineer and then an executive of several American Trading Corporation manufacturing divisions including the Kromex Company which was located in Cleveland. Following his business career retirement, Dick taught religion and mathematics in Cleveland area Catholic schools for 20 years up to age 80. He was nominated Cleveland Area Mathematics Teacher of the Year and awarded Teacher of the Year at St. Raphael's Blue Ribbon Elementary School.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Raphael's School (Bay Village) Scholarship Fund.

Funeral Mass St. Raphael Church 525 Dover Center Rd., Bay Village on Friday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
