My sincere prayers and condolences to The Turner Family. Mr. Turner was truly my favorite police officer in the world!! He knew my whole family, so it was hard getting away with doing anything wrong in Harlingen. Mr. Turner would see me around town and always stopped wherever he was going, even in the squad car, to check up on me and to make sure that I was staying out of trouble. He was the kindest, sweetest man and always wore a big smile on his face to share with the world. Whenever I would come back to town and visit my family, I would make sure to go by the police department and see Mr. Turner. I was planning a trip to come down to the Valley soon and Mr. Turner came across my mind. So I googled his name to see if he was still with the police department and sadly found this obituary. My heart sank with feelings of sadness, but I know that Mr. Turner is in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and that assurance helps to put a smile on my face because I know that I will see him again one day! In the meantime he will certainly be missed here on earth. Rest in Heaven, Mr. Turner!!

It was a joy to hear Richard's voice on the phone and the laughter he shared with his brother, Bruce. There is a tremendous hole in his brother's heart that I know will one day be filled when they see one another again in Paradise. May he rest in peace. I worked with Richard his entire career. It was an honor to know him professionally and as a loyal and trusted friend. Our daughters always took great delight in being in his company. He always had them in fits of laughter and would frequently stop by our home to shoot a few hoops with them. His friendship has been a blessing to our family and we will truly miss him.
