Richard Typrowicz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels & Cremation Services on May 9, 2025.
Richard E. Typrowicz, 81, of Enfield, beloved husband of Ellen (Herrmann) Typrowicz, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Ludlow, MA on May 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Maximilian and Stella (Zawrotny) Typrowicz and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1966, earning an honorable discharge as a Lance Corporal.
In 1965, Richard married the love of his life, Ellen, and together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. He was a dedicated family man who raised his children in Enfield and built a home filled with love and strong values. A skilled cement mason, Richard owned and operated RE Mason Company before later working for Stitson Construction. In his later years, he worked doing repairs for Target, where he enjoyed staying active and fixing things before eventually retiring.
Richard loved the outdoors and took great pride in his yard and garden. He enjoyed fishing, building, and working with his hands-creating stone steps, a waterfall, and a patio area that his family cherishes. He especially treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, and he looked forward to Sunday dinners filled with laughter and love.
In addition to his devoted wife, Ellen, Richard leaves two daughters, Beth Monfette and her fiancé Garrett Pease of Enfield, and Ann Wrona and her husband Robert Worm of Ellington; his beloved grandchildren, Timothy and Sarah Monfette and Matthew and Christopher Wrona; and his sister, Barbara Pietras.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. His funeral will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 6, at 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Enfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Hazardville Cemetery.
