Richard "Dick" H. Umberger, 89, of Palmyra, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1935, in Lebanon, and was the son of the late Cloyd K. and Ella A. (Smith) Umberger. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Naomi F. (Yiengst) Umberger.
A 1954 graduate of Hershey High School and Hershey Vocational School, Dick was a retired Supervisor of District Operations-Middletown of Met-Ed, and partner of E&U Electric. He was a long-time member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church of Palmyra.
Dick was a member of the Masonic Brownstone Lodge #666 in Hershey, and was a Palmyra Jaycees member, also served on the Board of Trustees and Cemetery at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and hunter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Stacie L. DeCock (Frederick) and Jeffrey A. Umberger (Toni); five grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Jacob, Rachel, and Alexandre; sister, Lucetta Patches (Ronald); and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd., Palmyra, PA 17078. A time of viewing and visitation will be held from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
