Richard Carl Van Haren, age 73, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home. Richard went on to work for Continental Tire where he was a chemist for over 30 years before retirement. Richard enjoyed going hunting and spending time outdoors. He had a passion for trains and flying model airplanes. Richard loved working with his hands and tinkering. He was a jack of all trades. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed dearly. I knew Dick for many years at General Tire in Akron. When the kids were young our families would get together so the adults could talk while watching our children play. Dick, myself, and others, from GT, would play poverty poker once a month at different people's homes. It was good memories that I will always have before General was bought and the employees were scattered due to Continental business plans.
