Obituary
Richard Michael Visco, 54, of Marlborough, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Hartford Hospital. Born February 3, 1969 in Derry Northern Ireland; he was a son of Catherine (McGettigan) Visco and Joseph Charles Visco. Richard was a graduate of Ledyard High School and went on to UCONN to earn his Bachelors in Finance and later achieved his MBA from Western New England College. In 1997 he married his wife Nancy Farr; the couple settled in Marlborough where they raised their two children. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams (Eagles, Celtics and UCONN Basketball). However his greatest joy in life came from being a family man and spending time with them, or kayaking trips with friends. His hobby of homebrewing led him to fulfilling his life long dream of opening and running his own business. He spent the last 10 years of his career working in the brewing industry. He is survived by his parents; his wife Nancy Visco; children Shannon Visco and Hudson Visco; brother Kevin Visco and wife Janet; brother in law Jim Farr and wife Jessica; and numerous other extended family and friends both here and in Ireland. His last gift was being a tissue donor, showing his true character as a person. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John Fisher Church 30 Jones Hollow Rd, Marlborough, CT 06447. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be sent to the Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department, 7 Hebron Road, Marlborough 06447 or to his children's education fund, Visco Children Education Fund c/o Liberty Bank 26 East Hampton Rd. I was in college when I met Rich after he started dating Nancy. I remember he drove with Nancy, Shannon, and Hudson in 2009 to visit us in NJ. My daughters were turning 5, and he was bringing everyone down for their princess birthday party. My dad was there, and I remember overhearing part of his conversation with Rich. I think they may have been talking about cars, and my dad said "Rich, you're a really interesting guy." It is a small moment, but it made me so happy that my dad was connecting with one of my best friend's husbands. And my dad was right - Rich was an interesting guy, and I am very glad to have known him.

Dearest Nancy,
My fondest memories were when your husband embraced Zac, Hudson´s Marlborough basketball rec teammate as a true family man would, with impeccable family support.
Thank you to you both for being supportive on so many levels.
Loved sitting with you both at the basketball games and spending time outside of sports as well. Your family is a blessing to us.
I am honored to have met Rich and his caring spirit.
Zac and I will miss him very, very much.
I am in Poland currently visiting my family and will unfortunately miss the services but I will be visiting the third largest Catholic Church in Europe located in Lichen, Poland and will light a candle in his honor and pray for your family so you can find the strength during this difficult time.
May God rest his soul.

Sincerely,
Joanna Jaworska (Linderman) &

Nancy and family, words cannot express my most profound heartbreak over your loss of Rich. There is nothing anyone can say or do to lessen your pain and grief at this moment. Please know, though, that you are loved and deeply cared about by many who will always be there for you, no matter when you reach out, or what your need. Peace and love. Carolyn LeComte
