To know Brian was to know love and devotion. His children never tired of hearing the words, "I love you," and "I'm so proud of you," and he never tired of saying them.
Beyond his words, Brian expressed his love through the care he put into everything he did. Whether building elaborate science fair projects, repairing broken-down cars, handcrafting a rocking horse, or recording footage for his daughter's wedding, he approached each task with patience and dedication. As a child, his youngest described his job simply: "he fixes everything."
Brian's greatest joy was being a father and supporting his children in their educational, artistic and athletic pursuits. His values of curiosity, perseverance and compassion live on in each of them.
Brian is survived by his children: Bradley Bensko of Mystic; Jillian Bensko and Colin Fields of Boston, Mass.; Tyler and Emily Bensko of Ledyard; and Jenna Bensko of Boulder, Colo.; and his continued friend, Debra Bensko of Groton.

Deb and kids:
I´m so very sorry to hear of Brian´s passing. Having spent time with Brian and Deb when our kids were young I agree with the loving words from his obituary. Brian was a kind and sweet soul. He always smiled and took care of his family. RIP
