Obituary
Richard Dale Wade
September 17, 1947 – January 5, 2025
Richard Dale Wade, 77, of Basin, Wyoming, passed away on January 5, 2025, at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin. He was born on September 17, 1947, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Charles Ernest Jr. and Betty Grace (Gifford) Wade. Richard was the first of two children in his family.
In 1972, Richard met Beulah Elaine Grainger in Memphis, Tennessee, and they were married on July 14, 1972. Together, they had one son, Christopher Michael Wade, who was born on December 30, 1973. Richard was a dedicated conductor for the railroad and retired from the BNSF after many years of service.
Throughout his life, Richard lived in various places, including Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee, Alliance, Nebraska, and Rozet, Wyoming, before settling in Basin, Wyoming, in 1990. He loved his Harleys and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. When he wasn't working, he cherished riding his Harley or spending time with his granddaughter, Stella Blue Wade, who was the light of his life. He adored her deeply, and she was truly the apple of his eye.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Wade, his beloved wife Elaine, and his son, Chris.
He is survived by his son, Geoff Droke, and daughter, Deanna Darnell, from his first marriage; his sister, Becky Davis, and her family; daughter-in-law Rachel (Henderson) Rittscher; and his precious granddaughter, Stella Blue Wade.
Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
