Richard Glenn Walker, age 66, residing in
Townsend, TN, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Prisma Health at Blount Memorial Hospital. Richard was a Preacher at Black Fox Primitive Baptist Church in
Washburn, TN. After graduating from Everett High School, Richard joined the Air Force, where he was a refueling Specialist for Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants and was stationed at Elmendorf, Alaska; Warner-Robins, Georgia; Austin, Texas; and Illinois Training Camp. After being honorably discharged in 1981, Richard became a fabrication worker for many years before having health issues. He loved spending time with family and friends, eating good country cooking, square dancing with his wife, woodworking, and had a passion for "making a garden". He would plant the garden and put it in God's hands to become fruitful. Richard will be deeply missed by those who knew him, especially his faithful, four-legged companion and friend, Midnight.
Preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Headrick Walker & Edith Rose Hembree Walker of Rockford; his brother, John Daniel Walker of Townsend; his sister, Sharon Ruth Walker Robson of Knoxville; and second wife, Louie Sharp Pyatt Walker of Heiskell.
Richard is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda & Adam Hood of Seymour, Nikki Taylor of Maryville; Bobbi Jo & Steven Myers of Maryville; his first wife Linda Walker of Maryville; surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren, Alisha McMillan daughters Maelynn Rose, Lillian; Nathan & Kayla Hood son Lincoln; Desera Taylor, Dakota Taylor daughters Chloe & Callie; Destinee son Alias; Dylan Taylor, Jada Buchanan, and Steven Myers; step-daughter and husband, Debra Pyatt-Poore & Johnny Poore of Heiskell; step-grandson and wife, Hunter & Callahan Poore of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen & David Coppinger of Maryville; nieces and nephews of Maryville, Stacie & Ben Wheeler; Chris Coppinger; Linda Rose Blakley; John Curtis Walker; special first cousins, Frances "Polly" Hall of Powell; Carla Peacock Swann of Alabama; Mike Hembree and Jerry Hembree of Maryville; Kevin Ledden of Knoxville; Donny Davis of Townsend; and other family also survive.
The family will host a Celebration of Life and burial on Sunday, March 1, 2026, starting at 3:30 pm, with Rev. Jerry McBee officiating. Everyone is welcome to meet at New Loyston Cemetery, 3970 Hickory Valley Rd.,
Andersonville, TN (Union County).
