Richard F. Watson

June 20, 1953 – January 17, 2026

Rich Watson, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on January 17 th after a short battle with illness. A resident of Washington Township since 1985, Rich is survived by his wife JoAnn (nee Castellini), son Zach (wife Ashley), and granddaughter Juliet. Rich made the world a more comfortable, hilarious place. As he would often prove with his gift of gab: he always had the right words, a quick joke, and a helping hand ready for anyone in need.

Born June 20, 1953, Rich grew up in National Park and Vineland with his mother Regina and father Al. A graduate of Vineland High School, he also obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Glassboro State.

Professionally, he was a powerhouse with a career spanning over 50 years. As a Sales Executive and trusted advisor, he was defined by a persistent work ethic. To him, colleagues and customers weren't just business contacts; they became family. When he wasn't closing deals, he was likely on the golf course with Lou, Kevin, Carl, and West Chester Kevin, chasing the perfect round and sharing a laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

By far his greatest pride in life was his family: his wife JoAnn, his son Zach, his daughter-in-law Ashley, his granddaughter Juliet (3), and his granddog Bruce Wayne. Rich and JoAnn were married over 45 years and were each other's perfect companion and best friend. The two loved going to Sea Isle every chance they got and exploring life and restaurants together. The most devoted father, Rich supported his son Zach in every endeavor and the two talked daily. Whether it be about sports or the latest meal they had, they were two peas in a pod and truly best friends. He also loved being a PopPop and "grand-paw" and cherished every chance he got to play, laugh, and eat snacks with his sweet granddaughter and his beloved cockapoo companion.

A dedicated Philadelphia sports fanatic, he held Eagles season tickets since 1977, weathering every high and low with the Birds. Whether it was the Phillies, Sixers, or Flyers, his passion for his teams was only rivaled by his love for his family. Rich and his son Zach went to hundreds of Philly sports games together creating memories that would last a lifetime.

For all those who knew and loved Rich, the world will certainly be a less bright (and less funny) place without him. We ask that in Rich's honor, his friends and family remember to always try and make someone else smile, just as he did each and every day. Whether it's a simple gesture or a witty joke, we hope you never forget the way Rich made you feel and smile and ask that you pay that forward.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday, January 23 rd 9:00 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 10:30 AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to Samaritan's Purse, Tunnels to Towers, or the charity of your choice.
