Richard Wearsch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Misencik Funeral Home - Avon on Apr. 15, 2023.
Richard W. Wearsch, 92, of Avon, passed away at home
on March 12, 2023, following a brief illness. He was
born March 15, 1930 and was a life-long resident of
Avon. He graduated from Avon High School Class of
1948 and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict
(1948-1953), receiving the Medal of Good Conduct. Richard continued
service in the United States Naval Reserve for twenty-five
years. Richard retired from B.F. Goodrich Technical Center after
30 years of employment. He then worked for Avon City Schools
for 10 years. Richard was an avid runner, who
participated in many 3 and 5 K races. He enjoyed attending
and hosting local car shows with his 1966 Chrysler New Yorker.
Richard cherished visits with family, watching fireworks on the
4th of July and spending Christmas with loved ones beside his
"pretty tree". He enjoyed the harmonica, playing to the delight
of his great-great grandchildren. He loved warmer weather,
never passing up the chance to sit under his pin oak tree on warm
and sunny days.
Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Richard is survived by sons Michael (Becky), Gary (Carol), and
David (Tammy), and daughter Susan Sikora (Larry). He leaves
his grandchildren Melissa Horan (Michael) and Daniel Wearsch (Anna)
and great-grandchildren Morganne Hernandez (Erik), Christian Blevins,
Ryan Tseng, Nathan Horan and Brennan and Ellie Wearsch, Richard's
great-great grandchildren Alesana, Adrik, Abel, Astraea and August
Hernandez and Jack and Jade Blevins, sister Jean Stydnicki (Frank) and
brother Jerry (Mary Jo). He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years
Beatrice "Bea" (Sultzaberger) in 2018, parents Ambrose and Mary
(Livchak), sister Doris Dunker and brothers Robert and William " Bill".
All services were private. Memorial contributions to
Cure SMA are encouraged. (http://www.curesma.org)
