Richard Weatherby

Richard Weatherby, age 76, of Alma, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant.
Rich was born February 5, 1949, in Alma, the son of Roland "Pete" and Ila (Briggs) Weatherby. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1967. Rich married Vicki Perkins on January 6, 1968. He was the founder of Weatherby's Plumbing and Heating. Rich was a member of the Alma Elks Lodge and enjoyed hunting, bowling, golfing, playing softball and helping with Alma Little League.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, children Wendy (Cory) Smith, Ryan (Denise) Weatherby, grandchildren Kiri Smith, Tallon (Brittany) Weatherby, Madelane (Ryan) Clark, Cortes Smith, Nicholas Smith, great grandchildren Karmen, Khloe, Alyviah, Korbyn, Jaxstyn, brother Louie (Dorothy) Weatherby and many nieces and nephews.
Rich was preceded in death by his parent Pete and Ila and brother Bob Weatherby.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Hospice, Thriving Wild Companion Animal Sanctuary or the Alma Elks Lodge.
