Richard G. Webb Sr., 82, of Holyoke, Colorado, passed away on October 5, 2025, at Regent Park Nursing Home in Holyoke.
Dick was born July 2, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Gerald Dee and Roxie “Dude” (Mallett) Webb. He graduated from Sedgwick High School with the class of 1962.
After graduation, Dick worked in the oil fields before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served honorably from 1963 to 1966 as a Tech 5 and crew chief on fixed-wing aircraft.
Following his military service, Dick managed several filling stations in Julesburg, including Lowery’s, before beginning his trucking career in 1976. He first drove for Samples and later for Haglers before eventually owning and operating his own truck. Trucking became one of the great loves of his life.
Dick married Barbara J. Williamson in 1968, and the couple made their home in Julesburg, where they were blessed with a son, Richard G Webb Jr.. He later married Geraldine Hedburg in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Dee and Dude Webb and his stepmother, Ruth; his brother, Ronnie Joe; and his stepbrother, Dallas.
Survivors include his son, Richard Webb Jr. (Crystal) of Julesburg; granddaughter, Holley Webb of Ogallala; great-granddaughter, Skylar Leigh; brother, David (Linda) Webb Sr.; nephews, David Webb Jr. and Jason Raleigh Webb; along with other relatives and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sedgwick Cemetery, with Pastor Marke Baker officiating.
A memorial has been established in Richard’s memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsjulesburg.com
