Richard H. Werner, 79, of Clyde Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Stein Hospice Care in Sandusky.
Richard was born May 28th, 1945 in Sandusky, Ohio to Lydia Ruth Meinen and Clarence Joseph (Pete) Werner.
Richard graduated from Townsend High School in Vickery, Ohio in 1963. Richard retired after 45 years from Whirlpool Corporation in 2010. He loved the outdoors. You could always find him outside cutting wood, cutting down trees, or mowing grass. Richard never met a stranger because he was friends with everyone. He was kind, and always willing to lend a helping hand. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed watching college sports, NASCAR, and sprint races. His favorite pastime was farming, you could always find him in a field helping his friends or in his barn with his pigs.
Richard is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rosemarie (Culbertson), sister, Lydia Henshaw, Daughter, Marcia Walters. Granddaughters, Julia (Tommy) McGory, Brooke (Cody) Gates. Great Grandchildren, Thomas and Emily McGory, and Colton Gates. Step Children, Christopher (Tanya) Risner, Jacqie (John) Willey, and Patricia Risner. Step Grandchildren, Trevor and Trent Goatee, Savanna Risner, Tricia Fleming, Amanda Cowdrey, Stephanie Keck, and Jade Willey. Step Great Grandchildren, Isabelle and Noah Slayton, Cora Fleming, Alexander Hammer, and Hazel Cowdrey. A good friend, Jake Richmond, and several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents along with his wife, Carolyn Werner as well as his sisters, Sarah Stradtman, and Joan Perry, and Son-in-law, Timothy Walters.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 10:00 am until the service at noon at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. Pastor Luke Walters will officiate with burial in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
