Richard W. Wnukowski, 73, of Arcadia Township passed away August 16, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born August 8, 1951 in Detroit to Norbert and Irene (Okon) Wnukowski. He grew up in Shelby Township and graduated in 1969 from Utica High School. He attended Macomb Community College for one year before being drafted into the Army.
Upon discharge, he worked as an auto mechanic at Sears, and began working at the Ford Michigan Proving Grounds in 1978, retiring in 2007.
Rick was happiest when spending time with family, especially his 4 grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He also enjoyed camping and playing card games.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Theresa (Mullins), his dear daughters Laura (Keith) Novak and Jennifer (Ben) Strong, his beloved grandchildren Craig Novak, Luke Novak, Anna Strong, and Lily Strong, two sisters Norene Kessler and Terry (Wayne) Rogers, brother-in-law Dennis (Angie) Mullins, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Richard and Anna Mullins, brother Norbert, and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial mass will be held on September 21, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Cornelius Parish, located at 3834 N Mill Rd, Dryden, MI 48428.
Inurnment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Arrangements by Gramer Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners.
