Richard J. Wodka, US Army Veteran; Devoted husband of the late Elizabeth, nee Conybear for 60 years; Loving father of Timothy (Shannon), and Terilyn (Jeffrey) Schulte; Proud Papa of Marleh, Riley, Trey, Lauren, Matthew, David, Michael, and Catherine; Beloved brother of Edwin (Patricia) Wodka and the late Joan (the late Al) Boskey; Dearest brother-in-law of the late Sue (Lou) Zemke, and John (Joan) Conybear; Cherished uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Richard was drafted right out of high school by the St. Louis Cardinals Organization, where he pitched for 5 years, until drafted into the Army. He was an avid Chicago sports and horse racing fan, and had a tremendous sense of humor. He was a gifted writer that took time to create custom birthday poems for all of his family. Visitation Friday, September 19, 2025, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday, September 20, 2025, Family and friends will meet directly at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 96th Street & Lawndale Avenue, Evergreen Park, IL. for Mass at 12:00 p.m.; a live stream of the Mass will be available by using this link: https://www.asimplestreaming.com/rjwodka.
