Richard Wooliver Obituary
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Angela Wooliver; son William "Bill-Bill" Hurt; grandsons Eloy Vasquez and Corey Scott Hurt; brothers Lawrence, Larry and Bill Wooliver; and sisters Rita and Nancy.
He is survived by his devoted wife Marilyn, with whom he shared over 50 years of deep love, and 48 years of marriage; daughters Missy (Donald) Crittenden, Kristi (Louie) Vasquez, and Melissa (Michael) Johnson; sisters Polly Morrow and Judy Cameron and partner Larry Cunningham; grandchildren, Adrian, Channing, Logan, Garrett, Sarah, Tyler, Marcello, Taylor, Sabella, Trey, Mackenzie, and Waylon; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many that he befriended and mentored during his over 50-year career in multifamily apartment communities - where he became known as a "Papaw" to all.
Richard's warmth and kindness touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest peacefully "Papaw". The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Mike Haun officiating. After the service, friends and family will proceed to Asbury Cemetery, 5100 Asbury Cemetery Rd., Knoxville, TN 37914, for a 2:00 PM Graveside Service. Pallbearers: Logan Hurt, Jayden Hurt, Michael Johnson, Frank Scott, Jimmy Scott, Todd Clark, and Larry Cunningham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause Richard supported generously each year. Richard was the best neighbor you could ask for. Always ready to throw his hand up and wave, or if I were in the backyard, I´d hear him yell "Aye!" He was a papaw to my kids, and one of my best friends. I´ll love him and miss him always.
