Richard D. Wright
Richard Dean Wright, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Brigham City, Utah.
Richard was born on November 17, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Byrant Shreeve and Florence Gunilda Larsen Wright and was the baby of 11 children.
Richard grew up on a farm on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. He loved taking care of his animals, riding his horse and farming the land with his dad.
Richard met his beloved wife, Ellen Ann Stowell, their senior year of high school. Their first date was the senior all night graduation party. Richard married his eternal sweetheart, Ann on August 5, 1960 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
He joined the Army Reserves just before High School graduation and served for eight years.
Richard and Ann were best friends and built a beautiful and loving life that included three children. Richard attended Idaho State University and earned an associate degree in Architecture. He loved designing houses and drew the plans for the house he and Ann built and lived in for 16 years. Richard loved working with computers. He worked for Garrett Freight Lines for many years as a computer programmer analyst. He retired from Beneficial Life Insurance.
His favorite hobby was computers and being with his family.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Ann; three children: Kevin (Lana) Wright; Kraig (Mary Len); Kathy (Ernest) Cassler; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings: Bernice, Bud, Irene, Della, Kenny, Barbara, Maxine, Beverly, Jack and Joyce.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E 200 S., Brigham City, Utah.
The family will greet friends on Thursday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
Interment at the Brigham City Cemetery.
