Join us as we celebrate the life of Richard Yards, born on September 24, 1934, in Covington, Kentucky. He passed away on August 15, 2025, in Cincinnati, OH, living a life full of love and family.

Richard was beloved by many, especially his sons Steve (Trish) Yards, Randy (Lori) Yards, and Scott (Leah) Yards, grandchildren, Ryan (Ariana) Yards, Christopher (Laura) Yards, Drew (Christina) Yards, Allie (Alex) Hoying, Megan (Justin) Yards, Camden Yards, and Avery Yards, great-grandchildren, Riley, Larkin, Millie, Wesson, Cora, Lily, Patrick, Brynn, Jack, Addie, Alaya, Cruz, Clete, Isla, Lane and many extended relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years Patricia Josephine Yards. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Maria Schlechtweg; parents, Leo and Anna (Schlechtweg) Yards; three sisters, Wanda Secrist, Nola Hoffman and Phyllis Gulley.

He was hardworking, selfless and humble. He always had a smile on his face and was incredibly friendly and approachable. He was someone who could talk to anyone as if they were already friends. He was dedicated to his family and loved nothing more than attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 am. The funeral services will begin at 10:30 am at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, turn left and follow the BLUE line to the funeral home.

Richard will be laid to rest next to his wife Pat at Arlington Memorial Gardens.

Your presence at the ceremony would be appreciated as we come together to celebrate and remember the life of Richard Yards.
