Richard Zeleski Obituary
December 3, 1963 - October 5, 2025
Richard P. Zeleski, 61, of Overton, Neb., passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on December 3, 1963, in Lexington, Neb., to Zigmund and Rosemary (Waltman) Zeleski. At 16, Rick began working for Shotkoski Hay Company, where he would dedicate over forty years. On September 12, 2015, Rick was united in marriage to Vicki Bailey.
Rick was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tractors. He and Vicki spent many days nature watching, especially the squirrels and always maintained his large vegetable garden. He enjoyed being in his gun room and recently became interested in reloading. He loved his family and adored spending time with his grandchildren, who were his world.
Survivors include his mother, Rosemary Zeleski of Salt Lake City, Utah; wife, Vicki Bailey-Zeleski of Overton; children, Tyler Zeleski of St. Paul, Zachary (Grace) Zeleski of Cozad, Dylan (Skylar) Zeleski of Loomis, Rebecca (Daaron) Stinson of York, Chevy Bailey, Dustin (Jodi) Bailey, Dallas Bailey, and Kody (Justina) Bailey, all of Kearney; fourteen grandchildren; sisters, Jeanne Longworth of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sheryl Fellers of Cozad; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Zigmund, and brother, Randy Zeleski.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 3 p.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Emmanuel Edi, officiating.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the Dawson County Cancer Care Fund.
